BAPTIST COLLEGIATE MINISTRY
LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY
2008-09 ANNUAL REPORT
Steve Masters, Director

The Baptist Collegiate Ministry at LSU moved back into the renovated BCM Center in the summer of 2008 and looked forward to using the center to kick off the fall semester of 2008. Large numbers of students attended the various meetings and ministries throughout the school year. The following are some of the highlights of the year.

1.  Monday Lunch – An average of 150 students each week attended the Monday Lunch meetings of the BCM. Monday Lunch is held from 11:40 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.

2.  TNT Worship was held on Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. during the 2008-2009 school year. The average weekly attendance for TNT was 180.

3.  Bible Study Groups – Over 200 students each week participated in BCM or local church college Bible studies. These studies were held at a variety of days, times and locations.

4.  Mission Trips – The BCM students participated in several different mission trips which included a mission trip to New York in December, to Puerto Rico, New Orleans and Texas in April and to Hawaii in May. The annual mission trip to Mexico during Spring Break had to be cancelled due to the drug cartel wars. The BCM will resume this trip in the spring of 2010.

5.  Summer Missions/Church Camp Staffers – Over sixty BCM students served as a summer missionary or a church camp staffer during the summer of 2009. These students served across the United States and around the world.

6.  International Student Ministry – The BCM continues to have a strong outreach to International Students attending LSU. There are over 1,800 International Students attending LSU from over 120 different countries. The BCM sponsored a weekly Coffeehouse for Internationals Students in 2008-2009. During the 2009-2010 school year the BCM is sponsoring a weekly dinner for International Students on Monday nights at 5:30 p.m.

The Fall of 09 semester kicked off in late August of 2009. The BCM has had a great start to this school year. Over 600 different students have already attended one or more of the BCM ministries. The weekly TNT average attendance has been over 250. The BCM anticipates a strong year of ministry.

A special thank you to the Baptist Association of Greater Baton Rouge and the churches of the association for the outstanding support you provide.
